SHIFT was a three-day symposium in May 2026 dedicated to reimagining the future of British theatre. Across the event, artists, producers, performers and change-makers came together to challenge the status quo, spark new thinking, and engage with the very real questions facing the sector today.

What emerged over those three days felt so special.

Beyond the discussions, SHIFT created a space for global majority theatre-makers, actors, artists and producers to gather, connect, and hold honest, powerful conversations about the realities of making work today.

As an illustrator, it was a privilege to witness and respond to those moments in real time, and be part of the energy in the space. I can truly say it was one of my favourite events I’ve ever captured.

Working this job showed me was where a space is nurtured, and built on a foundation of connection and humanity, the best things will grow from it.
